About Valley of the Sun Dog Rescue Who We Are: We are a private, federally registered, non-profit organization that is headquartered and operated from our home. Working with a staff of foster care providers, we rescue dogs that are ill, injured, maimed, abandoned or simply unwanted. The dogs we rescue are obtained from the various animal shelters in the area, as well as those animals given up by private citizens. We hold adoption clinics weekly at various PetSmart pet centers in the area. Although we specialize in American Pitbull and American Staffordshire Terriers, all dogs in need are accepted, treated as necessary, and adopted to private homes. The prospective adopters are required to fill out an in depth adoption questionnaire, submit to required home checks for a period of one year, as well as pay a fee for the animal. Additionally, there are monetary penalties that must be agreed to for any mistreatment of the adopted animal. We also reserve the right to reclaim the animal in the event of either mistreatment or unsuitability. Further, we reserve the right to pursue any individuals for mistreatment or neglect of the adopted animal through the court system, or law enforcement agencies. All of the above requirements must be read, initialed and the entire document signed prior to any adoption. Our Philosophy: Valley of the Sun
Dog Rescue is opposed to any acts of cruelty, mistreatment, or neglect to an
animal. Additionally, we are opposed to the training of animals for the “Blood
Sports”, (Bull Baiting, Pit Fighting, etc). We consider these actions to be
cruel, and show a wanton disregard for the health and well being of the animal.
We realize that under special circumstances an animal may have to be put down by
either veterinary or animal control officials. Our adopted animals are intended
to be used as family pets or service dogs for private individuals or families.
We look
forward to meeting with you! |
