Dean

Dean

Three puppies came to us several months ago from a place where they suffered only abuse and neglect. First there was Peggy Sue who lost her leg and found a great home with a mom that didn't care she had only 3 legs, Then there was Fiona who had a bad burn on her head and ear and was so very scared. She also found a great home. Then there is my Dean. He was the last of the pups to be removed from the situation and he mentally suffered more than the other two. It took a long time for him to voluntarily come up to anyone and like his sisters he didn't know what a kind hand or word was. We spent several months teaching him all the good in the world. Just about the time he had heeled from his leg injury and his mental injury and was ready for a new home he got sick again. Blood work showed that our poor Dean had Valley Fever. Well we of course started treatment on Dean and also sent him for some basic obedience training. When he came back we learned that he was getting better and started to look for a forever home for him. This was one of the hardest things his foster mom has had to do since she started rescuing these unwanted pups. Well one day a very nice young man put in his application for Dean's adoption. We called but were only going through the motions and didn't expect anyone to really want a little boy that was sick. We also didn't expect to find anyone that would meet the expectations of his foster mom. Well we were all wrong. His dad was very patient and did everything he could to convince us that he would always love and take care of this little boy. Dean now has a new mom, dad and sister. The best I think we could ever ask for. They are all very happy and his dad brings Dean to visit us. I really believe that Deans new dad is the best thing that ever could have happened to him. I'm not even sure that his foster mom could have given him a home as great as the one he has. We know Dean will always be safe as long as he is with this wonderful loving family and for that we are very grateful. The picture you are looking at is (right to left) Dean's older sister, Dean's loving Dad and of course Dean. "A picture is worth a thousand words"
