“Bruno”  is Dog of the Week!

Age: 6 months

Breed: Pharaoh Hound/Sharpie Mix

Bruno won our hearts at first site. He is a every submissive boy and loves attention. He is very dog social and loves to play. He is good with dogs and kids.
I was just recently pulled off of the euthanasia list at the local animal shelter and attended the Valen’Tails Adoption Event.
I didn’t find my forever family there so I am now part of Valley of the Sun Dog Rescue looking for my forever family again!

“Mack”

Age: 3 years 8 months

Gender: Male

Breed: Pit bull

I would like to introduce you to one of the most gentle, sweet and kind boys I have met since being with the rescue. His name is Mack; Kathy rescued him a year ago from the pound. He was in terrible shape, she found a nice lady with a sanctuary where he could go to heal, physically and emotionally. Mack had been used as a bait dog. I get tears in my eyes every time I even think about the life he has led; he is only about 3 years old! As you can see from his pictures, the one side of his face shows his scars, part of his nose is missing, part of his jaw is missing, part of his lip is torn and his ears are torn in half. His teeth have been almost completely filed down so he can’t enjoy a chew like other dogs… HOWEVER, Mack doesn’t complain, doesn’t carry a grudge… instead he kisses you when you kneel down to him, he buries his head into your neck, and he wags his tail when you talk to him!!!!

Mack is now ready to find his forever home. He needs to be an only dog due to his past and fear of other dogs. He has healed up and ready to live the same life that every amazing dog deserves and maybe just a little better for him!!! He is truly an inspiration when you meet him.

“Roscoe”

Age: 1 years 7 months

Gender: Male

Breed: Lab/Doberman mix

Roscoe was rescued from a hoarding situation. He was terrified of everything and completely shut down. He has had some obedience training and will walk good on a leash, will sit and down on command. He is housebroken and great with other dogs, cats, small animals and livestock. He is learning to trust again and will need someone with dog experience, due to his fear, but with patience and love he will come to trust. We have had a lot of introductions with stranger and although he is hesitant at first he warms up to them quickly. Small children may scare him with their quick movements, but he will be good with older children

“Jazzy”

Age: 1 years 7 months

Gender: Female

Breed: Pit bull

Molly was seized by the police department and then we rescued her from animal control. Her and 16 other pits were living in very poor living conditions with no access to food, water or shelter from the sun. She is a bit shy right now. You can see it when you meet her that she is very eager to meet new people and recieve love and attention but she is not trusting enough. She simply needs positive attention and love to build her confidence. She gets along with other dogs. Knowing the past living conditions she came from she will need some work with house training but she is already showing quick progress with kennel training.

“Thunder”

Age: 7 years 3 months

Gender: Female

Breed: Rottweiler mix

Thunder was rescued a few yrs ago from a very bad house fire in Mesa. The owner of the property was hoarding animals. Thunder and her sister (now adopted) were a few of the lucky ones to get out alive to be given a second chance. She has recovered from her fear and now loves attention from that special person. Please open your heart and give this girl a forever home. Thunder is great with other dogs, cats and older kids. She is house trained.

“Sweetie”

Sweetie is just that! Very sweet. She will get along with other dogs and is good with kids. We are still learning about her but so far everything we see is good.

“Martin”

Age: 1 years 1 months

Gender: Male

Breed: Pit bull

Martin is a very good boy. He is good with other dogs and kids. He may be too big of a puppy to be with a small dog because he is very active, but he loves to romp and play with dogs that can keep up with him. He was found stray and is an extremely sweet boy. He is a big puppy so he will need training.

“Keira”

Breed: pitbull

Keira is so sweet. She will curl up in your lap and be in heaven. She is a small girl and has some great manners. She does need to learn so basic obedience but we will be working on that.

“Delilah”

Age: 1 years 6 months

Gender: Female

Breed: Pitbull

Delilah is a great dog. She loves to run around and play. She really likes a ball. She is good with the right male dog and is good with kids. She is also house trained.

“Princess”

Age: 5 years

Gender: Female

Breed: German Shephard

Princess was abandoned in a yard when her owner moved out. She had been there for a week before she was rescued. She is such a gentle girl. She is great with people and lived with 2 other dogs both male. She is very much a cuddle bug. She is very happy to hang out with her people. Princess is over weight but with exercise and proper diet will be fit and trim in no time at all. She is very house trained and doesn’t bother a thing in the house while you are gone.

“Rodney”

Rodney is a great dog. He does need an experienced dog owner that would be willing to take him to training and also exercise him regularly. He does know sit and is very eager to learn

“Capone”

Age: 9 months

Breed: Pit bull

Capone came to us as a foster when he was only 10 weeks old. He was beyond shy and didn’t quite know what to make of the world. He and his litter mates along with 13 other pit bulls had been rescued from a severe neglect situation.
Capone has come along way; there isn’t a day that he doesn’t make us smile and laugh. He has bonded with all of the dogs in his foster house in his own unique charismatic way. Although he enjoys each day to the fullest, Capone is a special boy. Capone is one of the most layed back social dogs I think we have ever had in our rescue. He is so easy going and eager to great any new creature or person that might come along. He is house trained and crate trained and loves his bean bag in the evening.
He is truly a puppy that just wants to love you and enjoy the day with you. He doesn’t ask for anything but a hug and a smile!

“Rusty”

Rusty is a very nice boy. He does need some training but will learn fast. He has a new scar on his neck from an embedded collar, however he has healed well. He loves people. He needs to learn how to introduce himself to another dog but I’m sure once he learns to calm he will do great

Wilbur is such a great boy. He is good with other dogs, good with kids and seems to have a very soft nature. He is house trained and loves to play with a ball and go for walks. He is still an active boy so he does need exercise. He seems to be a readymade family member

This poor boy is very thin and we are putting some groceries on him. He is a sweetie and seems to do very well with kids and other dogs.

Gretel is a happy, energetic little girl that loves everyone she meets, however she is very shy at first! She has been with us since she was 10 weeks old when her litter was rescued from a severe neglect case. She makes everyone smile who meets her. She never stops wagging her tail!

“Rocko”

Rocko is about 2 years old. He loves to play tug of war and chase toys and sticks in the yard. He loves running and playing as much as possible. He is very friendly with other dogs and people. He is house trained, can shake, sit and lay on command. He does not bark , but will speak when you are throwing him a toy.

This little man is very tiny. He would do best with older children so he doesn’t get hurt. He is very good with other dogs, however he does need some work on house training but with consistency he will do great.

Sabrina is a beautiful little girl. She had spent her whole life at the end of a chain in a back yard until a nice lady saved her. She is going to obedience training currently and doing very well. She is house trained, and crate trained. She needs to be an only dog and be adopted by an experienced dog owner. She also wants a home that will take her for long walks or run with her.

We are still getting to know Natalia. She loves to be around people and seems to be fine with male dogs. She continues to amaze us as we learn more about her.

This little guy was found stray by our volunteer's daughter. He is living in a foster home with several other dogs of all sizes and does very well. He is also good with children. He is crate trained and learning house training.
